M3:D45 Something missing

![]() Have you ever had that feeling you get when something just isn't right? It is that feeling of impending doom that happens when something is not normal. It is that sinking feeling that all is not right with your world. Today has been a very stressful day. I've been feeling kind of down. I had a very hard time sleeping through the night. I still dragged myself to the gym early this morning for my cardio workout, but something is missing today and I'm not sure what it is. I'm also not clear on the source of my stress. I get this strong feeling that something just isn't right in my world. This is not a good thing with my mission hitting the mid point. I am not going to allow my mood to change my focus. I will dig down deep and do the things that propel me forward. I have PRWs, but they do no good if I am not doing something daily to further them. That's my state of mind today. If you are used to my usual upbeat posts, this is not going to be one of your favorites. I assure you that. Everybody that was around me today noticed my mood. I suppose that's a good sign because it means I'm rarely ever in this sort of mood. I just wish I knew what was the cause of it. Physically I feel good, but mentally I'm exhausted. I am looking forward to my workout in the morning. I need to push some heavy weight around to feel better. I know that for an hour between 4 a.m. and 5 a.m. I will be working as hard as I possibly can work and that thought makes me feel a little bit better. So to everyone out there, I apologize, but today is not my best day.

![]() As mentioned, I had a horrible time sleeping, but I didn't use that as an excuse. I went to the gym for cardio and instead of my usual steady state session I decided on an interval session. It was an intense interval session. I warmed up at 4.5 mph for 2 minutes. I then proceeded to do 2 minutes at 8.5 mph, 1 minute at 6.5 mph, 2 minutes at 9.5 mph, 1 minute at 6.5 mph, 2 minutes at 10.5 mph and 1 minute at 6.5 mph. I repeated that 3 times and managed a total of 30 minutes today. My legs were like rubber at the end of the workout. Now, because I'm bulking, I'm very sensitive to any possibility of losing lean body mass, so today I immediately had a protein shake loaded with BCAAs as soon as cardio was over. That is said to help maintain the LBM that can be lost from a cardio session.
![]() Not every day will be the best day ever, but you have to dig deep and stick to your plan even on the worst of days.

Mike:Sorry to hear you'd had a rough day. You've been going with intensity for such a long time, maybe you should take a mental rest day, or week-end off and get away for a few days...a change of pace and scenery usually works. You are a great inspiration...this too shall pass.

Mate, sorry to hear that you're feeling a bit down. Not overdoing it?
You are one of the most focussed shredders I know, so I know you'll be back on top of your game real quick!

Hi Michael,
I bet it has lots to do with our bulking up...all the protein...the energy gets crazy...i've read that a side effect is for sure irritability and/or restlessness. Perhaps you could look to some herbal remedies like 5-HTPO with L-Tyrosine, or Sam-e. I take the 5-htp supplement and it's very helpful in times of stress; i go thru that a little myself
Hang in there!
LOVE, Ya Big Shredder you! ~xo

Hi Michael,
I know how you feel - I have those day too. Good for you for working hard on your intervals despite a sense of uneasiness and lack of sleep.
Hope all is resolved soon and you are back in a good place mentally. I've no doubt you will be back to the "upbeat" Michael in no time!

Hi Michael... well, what's the life of an athlete without these kind of days.. I just wanna say that you're being very disciplined through this mission... teh good thing is that the change is in your mood.. don't you see that your body is changing?.. metabolism's changing...mind is changing... things are happening to you right now because of the life style and the intensity you've being working with.. so, I'm glad you chose to workout really intense besides your "rare" mood.. this is just the amount of work you've put in your body and it's acumulating.. that is how it works.. so.. great choice.. don't stop please Michael.. this is usually a sign that great results are about to happen!! keep it up... we're with you!!

Hi Michael, sorry to read that you had a rough night of sleep and aren't feeling wonderful. Sounds like you used your time wonderfully though this morning, and made the best of it by taking an early workout. I was amazed to see the speed for your sprints...I thought I was trucking at 7.0 on the treadmill...guess I need to kick it up a bit. Tomorrow will be better!
